Top Tourist Attraction and Best Things to do in Montreux

Montreux location on the shores of Lake Geneva, and on the foot of Alpine foothills makes it an ideal base from where to explore numerous places of interest. There are some mountain villages nearby, and the popular resorts in the Valais and the Bernese Oberland also are close.

Rochers-de-Naye

In only 45 minutes, the cogwheel prepare climbs 1,600 meters (approx. 5,200 ft) from Montreux to the Rochers-de-Naye summit offering awesome all-encompassing perspectives over Lake Geneva from Montreux the distance to Geneva (counting its celebrated wellspring), and the Alps (on a sunny morning from the Mont-Blanc in the southwest to the Eiger in the east !)

Les Pléiades

This attractive itinerary, rich in tradition, takes you from Central Switzerland to Lake Geneva. You pass through the historic sites of the Lucerne region traveling onboard the Luzern-Interlaken Express panoramic train, cross the Brünig Pass and alongside Lake Brienz to Interlaken. From Interlaken, the journey continues with the GoldenPass Line across the Simmen Valley to Zweisimmen. There is a change of trains here for the journey into the mountains to reach the celebrated resort of Gstaad before continuing towards the magnificent vineyards on the shores of Lake Geneva.
